Ok, first boot successful :-)

Took the bezel at the backside off, which exposes the VGA connector. So plugged monitor in and there we go, a nice, calm logo, not the usual boot screen cr*p logo. I really like it.

Anyway, WHS is preinstalled without password. Quickly made the obligatory settings: set a fixed size for the page file, indexing service was already off, turned Windows search off, turned of visual styles. Set resolution to 1080p, flawless. Hard drive is reasonably preconfigured, with only one 20GB partition for Windows.

Yes, I like it.

So now reboot and see if it boots from USB. I installed the Ubuntu Server Edition 10.04 on the flash drive, the Ubuntu website gives you excellent instructions for that. Let's see what happens…
